All of the systems in the Classic series incorporate
the Agie High Speed Super Surface (HSS) generator to achieve standard Agie
accuracies at cutting speeds of 28 in.˛/hr. The Agiecut Classic 2S leaves no
white layer, and achieves surface finishes to 0.3 mm Ra (14.4 RMS), and 0.2
mm Ra (7 RMS) when the optional "R Module Ra 0.2" is used. The Classic 2S
has the capacity to handle a 55lb. wire spool, and an automatic wire
handling system that automatically transports 0.008 to 0.013 in. diameter
wire from the spool to the front brake for easy and fast setup, with an
option for 0.004 to 0.006 in. diameter wire.The
Classic 2S features XYZ travels of 13.8 in. x 9.8 in. x 10 in., U/V travels
of ±2.8 in. x ±2.8 in., and 30° tapering in work pieces up to 3.93 in. tall.
This new EDM system can accommodate work pieces with dimensions up to29.5
in. x 21.6 in. x 9.8 in., and weighing up to 440 lbs. Contour tolerances
down to +/- 0.00024 in. are held by the Classic 2S.
The Classic 2S features Agievision™, the unique
object-oriented graphical man-machine interface based on the popular Windows
operating system for personal computers. Standard Agievision functions
included on the Classic 2S are: Formalcheck, Easywork, Autosequence,
Agiesetup 2D, Teccut, Dynamic Corner Control, Purecut and Lotto.
The Classic 2S wire-cut EDM system is designed so that
all components - including work tank - are integrated within a single
support frame. This produces a fully enclosed, easy to install machine tool
requiring a minimal number of external connections, and provides for
electromagnetic screening in compliance with all international safety
regulations and standards. The fully integrated system has a net weight of
5,896 lbs. Setup is fast and simple, and normal tooling operations are
facilitated by a wide front access door. All cast iron components of the
Classic 2S have identical thermal expansion characteristics, and its static
design and dynamic rigidity - as well as thermal stability of these
components - assure the achievement of predictable and repeatable results.
